Introduction

For my first post, I will give you a little more about me.

Hello! I’m Samantha a Cape Verdean juggling momma. I’m a mother, wife, sister, auntie, friend, caregiver, mentor, girl scouts troop leader, and my own human being. I certainly have a good sense on juggling priorities. I have learned that sometimes things go as planned and many times they don’t. But, hey it’s okay. (Remaining positive is key to survival these days). I created this blog, so that I could share my love and experience as a mother with parenting, culture, cooking, DIY projects, arts & crafts, basic money-saving tips and words of advice. If you share a common love or interest for any of the above, then you just scored yourself a new friend and happy place.

I was born and raised in Rhode Island. My parents were both born in Senegal, a country in West Africa. My mother came to the United States at the tender age of four. My maternal grandparents immigrated to the United States over sixty-five years ago and have both obtained their U.S. citizenship. I can speak English, Cape Verdean Creole, and Spanish. My favorite color is orange, I love my family, I love to cook/bake new dishes. I enjoy crafting, scrapbooking, couponing, and culture.

I’m the youngest out of four sisters. My senior year in high school, I met my first boyfriend (now my husband). I put myself through four years of college and earned my Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Business Management. After my second year in college, I moved into my first apartment. In 2011, I married the greatest man alive, my best friend. A year later, we welcomed our first baby girl Zylaa (6), then our second baby girl Zaniya (4), and recently our first baby boy, Zendell ( 6 months).

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you enjoy my blog posts. Please do drop comments, feedback, and share your experiences as well.
